Dual-channel oscilloscope
The dual-channel oscilloscope allowed us to look at high-frequency signals
from the ORDINATOR. To generate measurement signals a special test
program was usually required, which was typically created on-the-fly
using DIAMOND.

| hardware diagnosis |
Although one could theoretically do it alone, hardware fault diagnosis
was typically a two or three person job: one person to write the test
programs and/or read the circuit diagrams, one person to keep the scope correctly triggered (not easy
with two test signals) and one person to connect the scope probes
to the circuit board under test and use the soldering iron when
changes had to be made (typically but not always done with the board
remaining on-line). Most of us could take all three roles and they
often changed several times during long sessions.
