ORDINATOR first video board

first video board

The first video board of the ORDINATOR was built to generate the video signal for a single display monitor. It is a pure output device that continually encodes the contents of a region of system memory into a video signal. Functionally, the board is identical to the second video board, except for the memory segments that it occupies. Under TS, this board is coupled with the first keyboard and known as the VIDEO0 device.

The first video board was built using wire-wrap techniques that proved to be cumbersome for maintenance; the second board used our conventional Teflon wiring system.
